Target bring fun and laughter to the catwalk

Most of the time fashion shows are thought to be something that is very serious, and laughter at least is usually kept to a minimum. However, at the recent Target fashion event, children’s clothes were on top display with plenty of toddlers and tweens carelessly skipping down the runway showing off Target’s new spring line.

Adding to the informality was the addition of mascot Bullseye, a bulldog that also accompanied many of the clothes with his model dog walker. The Target show was the first runway show of the New York Kids Fashion Week.

The models also looked quite at place on the runway, as one boy with bright red Ron Weasley hair looked like he was born to be cool wearing a pair of aviator sunglasses that were oversized enough to be adorable on him. Another memorable moment from the show was when two young toddlers came down the runway holding hands in coordinated sun dresses, sparkly sandals, and matching hats.

For audience members, a clear highlight is when Bullseye stopped to pose with the audience so that everyone could take home a piece of the show. He also modelled a Target red collar and of course his trademark Bullseye painted around his eye. Trends from the show clearly pointed towards sun dresses for the girls with matching hats and for the boys animal prints and patterned board shorts.

One notable difference between adult runway shows and the children’s fashion show was that these models cannot help but smile as they come down the runway and that makes it a lot more fun for everyone in attendance. While it might not be a fashion show just for fashionistas, it is a lot more fun to watch children come down the runway in a variety of new styles.
